President Tom’s September Blog
Lion President Tom writes –
Wow the power of the Web! I have just received a delightful magazine and bannerette with good wishes from the other side of the world, Heathcote Lions Club, in Australia. It reminds us all what Lions are all about and the good work that is done all over the world.
The Trees Project is still on schedule (see item on our Project page for more information). The club is still working hard with our collection of spectacles and this great initiative is now being led by our 2nd Vice President, Lion John Suffolk. Thanks John!
As president I was welcomed at our Daughter club, Bradley Stoke Lion’s Business meeting, recently. Bradley Stoke Lions are working hard in their efforts in community work and spreading the word of Lionism. What enthusiasm being shown by Lion President Robin Young and his fellow lion members.
I know I have mentioned it before but I am still buzzing following the “105 W Club President’s day” in Newport . Very inspiring – see August blog.
This club is also about Having Fun! On the 10th August there was a great turn out of members at Lion Duncan’s house when he hosted a scrumptious BBQ, supported by our own fine Chef, Lion Mark. Great night was had under the Gazebo, in a fine setting of Duncan’s back garden. Even Lion Mary tried to get a sing a long going. Great food and company!
The Club’s 42nd Annual Charter Night dinner is steadily approaching (19th October) so off now to do a little organising.
