Bristol Brunel Lions Club was established in 1972.
What we do
For over 40 years we have raised funds for good causes. We have fund raising activities for all types of venue. The Frogs Game is popular at fairs. The Pigs Game is great in pubs. The Card Game is fun indoors and outdoors. If you would like us to come to your function with one of these please get in touch.
We put Christmas Hampers and Easter Eggs in pubs and clubs to raise money. If you want one of these please get in touch.
The money raised all goes to worthwhile causes, mostly in North Bristol. We have a long tradition of helping those with sight problems. You can find out precisely where the money has gone recently here.
Who we help
Bristol Brunel Lions are happy to help a wide range of people with varying needs, and like to support people in our local area with small grants. We welcome requests for assistance, preferably by email. Every request for help is carefully considered.
In order to receive a grant we need details of what the money is wanted for and who would benefit. We would like to know something about the accounts of the group seeking assistance. We rarely help people who wish to travel abroad even if the work they are going to do is very worthy and useful. Our foreign donations are processed through the International Association of Lions Clubs.
We also choose a small number of charities each year for larger grants. You will find a comprehensive list of the people we have helped recently here.
Bristol Brunel Lions have helped many groups and organisations which include Lawrence Weston Community Farm, Barton Camp, Hawkspring, Manor Farm Boys Club, Avon Youth Club, Air Training Corps 2442 Squadron, Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Eye Hospitals, The Chescombe Trust and Elmfield School.

Last year under President Bill O’Neill, we donated plants to primary schools, paid for a Talking Book for the Royal National Institute for the Blind and helped many other local charities.
Charter Member Lion Duncan White succeeded Lion Bill as President in July 2017. Since then we have helped Chescombe Trust , Elmfield School for Deaf Children and Lawrence Weston Community Farm and the Bob Cook Games and we helped lots of other local groups, as well as contributing to work by Lions International with the blind.
